WASHINGTON (AP) -- AP sources say that Elizabeth Birnbaum has been fired as director of the U.S. Minerals Management Service.

I can't find more than a few sentences anywhere on the web that explains why they fired her or who they intend to put into her job. If anyone has any clues, please let us know.
